Beef Burger Patty

Welcome to this delicious Beef Burger Patty recipe, as burgers come in all kinds of shapes and forms for the purpose of this recipe I will be sharing just the patty mix. As a side note I often add bacon, egg, caramelised onion, lettuce and cucumber to mine but today, we’re just making cheese burgers.

I also have two additional patties that will be eaten tomorrow for lunch at work.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 4 slices tasty cheese (if making thinner patties you’ll need more)
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • hand full of dried oregano
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 500g minced beef
  • Dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • Tea Spoon of Mustard seeds

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large bowl, combine beef, oregano, garlic, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, Mustard seeds and egg. Mix until all ingredients are evenly dispersed, add bread crumbs and knead crumbs into mixture until formed. Create six even patties.
  2. Heat a fry pan on medium high heat, once hot coat fry pan in oil, cook burger for 4 to 5 minutes on one side then flip. Place a slice of cheese on the cooked side (top should be facing up) cook for another 4 to 5 minutes. Cheese should melt nicely.
  3. Serve on your desired bun and with your preferred additional toppings and serve with chips or salad.
