Life’s Moments Are Still Here.

Start, but don't end
Eynesbury falls, Victoria

Victoria has just entered stage 4 lockdown and for many of us this is the first time we have experienced hardship, but life’s moments are still here.

I’m 34 years old and I spent a portion of my life with my grandparents on my mothers side, whom migrated to Australia from Italy in the 1950s for a better life in Australia.

I remember how they used to talk about the times they hid as they heard planes fly overhead, They hid in utter fear of being bombed. Going through hardship from war, poverty and disease.

Like many, these made up much of the “back in my day” stories, some we cringed others we feared but we sat not knowing what that felt like, until 2020.

I could go on with negativity but I won’t, there’s already a lot of it online and I don’t want to waste this year feeling crap. Life’s moments are still here, as an avid explorer I miss going to the beach, the country to visit family or even to my favourite coffee shop. However, they will still be there when this is over. If anything they will be even more beautiful than I remember them.

Did you notice how beautiful the moon was the other night? I did. I initially took a picture with my phone and it was crap. I spent three hours tricking out my drone which has a 1080p high resolution camera and learning how to take a proper night image. (still learning)

I’ve recently taken up Piano, I’m not any good but lil miss three loves how I can play baby shark or twinkle twinkle little star, that’s good enough for me.

My point is, life will always be what you make of it and it can be as great or as bad as YOU make it. If you surround yourself with negativity then negativity is all you will see.

There has never been a better time to start something new or even old. The world as we knew it has stopped and just because we must remain indoors physically, doesn’t mean we have to mentally.

Your eyes have seen beauty and your mind is longing to be free, to be amongst it and it is yearning for it. So set yourself a goal and create that beauty, create new feelings of positivity, create new moments of joy.

For me I am blessed with a beautiful young family that I adore, but just like you I have fear and doubt about tomorrow. However, I will not let it take from me what it wants. I WILL define 2020 by how I want it to be defined.

Our minds will be free as we camp under the stars in the back yard (or bedroom with an awesome star projector I bought from Target). We will sail across seas to new continents and find new species of animals, explore new terrain with precious crystals and treasure. But most of all we will continue to have fun with no limits on time. When I am old and frail I will look back on 2020 as the best year of my life and I will wish it was my forever.

You have everything you need to make this the best year of your life, a year totally devoted to you or your family, what’s stopping you?

Remember, Life’s moments are still here.
