This slow cooker beef cheek will impress the whole family

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 large beef cheeks
  • 2 large potatoes (for potato mash)
  • 1 brown onion diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 carrots , diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 heaped tablespoon dried Thyme
  • 1 heaped tablespoon dry or fresh rosemary
  • 1 heaped tablespoon oregano dried
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

DIRECTIONS

  1. brush the bottom and sides of your slow cooker with olive oil then place vegetables, garlic and onion sparsely across the bottom of the slow cooker. Place beef cheeks on top followed by herbs, salt and pepper.
  2. Place lid on slow cooker and cook on high for five hours or 8 hours on low (until meat pulls apart).
  3. 20 minutes prior to beef cheeks cooking completion prepare your mash potatoes.
  4. pull meat apart with two forks (shredding the beef cheeks) and serve on a bed of mashed potatoes.
