Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

This slow cooker pulled pork recipe will change the way you eat pork forever!


  • Pork Shoulder (I used an unskinned, unboned 2.5kg shoulder)
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon or french mustard
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large brown onion, diced/minced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons thyme
  • Optional extra – 1 tablespoon chili powder


  1. Using a sharp knife remove skin and excess fat, discard skin (or make crackle!)
  2. Smear the bottom of your slow cooker and sides with a little olive oil and place all the ingredients into the slow cooker and then place the pork on top (without the skin and fat)
  3. Cook on high for 6 hours rotating the meat at the 3 hour mark. Once cooked with two forks shred the meat and remove bones.
  4. Serve on bed of mashed potatoes
